Salam,

Well,if you have been wronged by someone & then he/she realizes his/her mistake then you are encouraged to forgive him & also forget his/her mistake.

So if a person has made a mistake then he should not only ask forgiveness from ALLAH but also from the one with whom he had done injustice,now whether that person forgives him or not is something else but he on his part should apologize.
