Ford Rhodes and Sidat Hyder merge

Ford Rhodes Robson Morrow and Sidat Hyder Qamar & Co have merged to create one of the largest professional entities in Pakistan.

The two well-known Chartered Accountant firms in the country have completed the work on their proposed merger. The new firm will come into effect from October 1, 2002. The newly created firm will work as a member firm of the international accountancy firm Ernst & Young Global, under the name of Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder & Co, but the management consultancy affairs of the business will still be working under the name of Sidat Hyder Morshed Associates (Private) Limited.

The newly created firm has 22 partners and two executive directors. The audit assurance section of the firm will be headed by Mr. Ahmed Dawood Patel, the tax division by Mr. Nasim Hyder, the consultancy division by Mr. Omer Morshed and the corporate advisory division will be presided by Mr. Ebrahim Yaqoob Sidat. Mr. Patel will also act as the chairman of the executive board, and Mr. Sidat will also act as the country managing partner and the chief executive officer.

The firm also has established offices in Lahore and Islamabad.
