State Bank issues directive to banks about security stationery

KARACHI (September 16 2003): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has asked all banks that the paper used for cheque books and for other security stationery, other than Pakistan Security Printing Agencies, should carry certification from government-run companies.

The State Bank of Pakistan on Monday released BPD Circular No 27 which said that the paper of cheque books and other security stationery, if printed by the licensed security printing agencies, other than Pakistan Security Printing Corporation (PSPC), shall require to be got tested from PSPC or Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR).

The banks shall place on their record copy of the certification letter issued by PSPC or PCSIR, as the case may be, in respect of the security stationery.
